face value

A small selection of photographic portraiture taken over many years working as an independent freelance photographer.

Portraits taken on location and in different photographic studios, including my own studio in London.

My work often results in images of visual melancholy or reflection.

The common denominator in all my portraits is the search for truth.

landcapes + architecture

Within chaotic city scapes and tranquil landscapes equal beauty and design inspiration are found.

Colour combinations, textural & pattern influences are documented, realised and intermixed into select designs from photographic work taken across inhabited and uninhabited landscapes.

All available as open edition archival art prints on request.

cover story

‘THE SCENE’

movement, form, ego, emotion, light.

Hidden behind a veiled longing for acceptance I look for flaws disguised as confidence and in those flaws finding raw beauty and depth of character.

I try to ignore what is being offered to me at face value and search for the sweet spot where emotion and insecurity take over any residual ego, this often leads me to capture the true essence of whoever I am photographing.

Photographing anyone aware they have a presence, requires the ability to become background noise, eventually the performer looses the sense that you are there, this allows me to dig deeper and capture something real laying beneath their own cover story.
